Last updated: Jan. 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Wynter Code ("the Software", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our desktop application.

Information We Don't Collect

Wynter Code is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, usage data, or analytics from your use of the Software. The application runs entirely on your local machine.

Local Data Storage

The Software may store configuration settings, preferences, and temporary files locally on your device. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers operated by us.

Third-Party Services

Wynter Code integrates with third-party services and APIs, including:

  • Claude Code CLI and Anthropic's API services
  • OpenAI's API services
  • Google's API services
  • Other development tools and services you configure

When you use these integrations, your data may be transmitted to these third-party services according to their respective privacy policies. We do not control or have access to this data transmission - it occurs directly between your installation of the Software and the third-party services.

API Keys and Credentials

API keys, tokens, and other credentials you provide to the Software are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to these credentials. You are responsible for:

  • Securing your API keys and credentials
  • Understanding the privacy policies of services you connect to
  • Managing permissions and access for third-party integrations
  • Revoking access when no longer needed

Code and Project Data

Any code, files, or project data you work with using the Software remains under your control. The Software may process this data locally to provide its functionality, but does not transmit it to us. When using AI integrations, your code may be sent to the respective AI service providers according to their terms and privacy policies.

Updates and Telemetry

The Software does not include automatic update mechanisms or telemetry that transmits usage data to us. Any updates are distributed through the official channels (GitHub releases, website downloads) and require manual installation.

Open Source Nature

Wynter Code is open source software. You can review the source code to understand exactly how your data is handled. The code is available on our GitHub repository.

Data Security

While we design the Software with security in mind, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping your device and system secure
  • Protecting your API keys and credentials
  • Understanding the security implications of third-party integrations
  • Regularly reviewing and updating your connected services

Children's Privacy

The Software is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
